Dr. Luna is a graduate of UAB’s School of Dentistry and attended a 2-year residency in Charleston, South Carolina.  He has also received further education on cosmetic and neuromuscular dentistry at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies.

He has received numerous awards including a Fellowship Award in the Academy of General Dentistry, and being identified in the Consumer’s Research Council of America’s “Guide to America’s Top Dentists” for 2003-2004 and 2005-2006.  Dr. Luna has been interviewed multiple times on television, radio, and the local newspaper and has had the honor of having his work published in brochures and dental laboratory magazines.

Dr. Luna is a member of:  the Birmingham District Dental Society, the Alabama Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.  He is the past state chairman for the Council on the New Dentist, whose mission is to help a dental student, or new dentist, with the transition into the profession of dentistry.

Dr. Luna is an avid outdoors man and enjoys most sports, along with: hiking, camping, biking, kayaking, etc. He played professional soccer during dental school and is currently a competitive triathlete. Dr. Luna is involved with many charities and raises money by going on long distance bike rides and climbing mountains! He has two daughters and enjoys spending as much time as possible with them.
